The dining hall food doesn't suck that bad, I've eaten healthier meals there than I have for months. Lot's of salads, fruit, and water. And classes aren't that bad either. The homework sucks, and World Thought and Culture always has the air conditioner on past durability, but altogether I think I might make it through the semester. Pool on Saturday nights makes everything a little more interesting. I'm actually beginning to learn how to play the game without too much mishap.

I'm going to go do something productive now, so don't forget to go to that website and I will write more when I think there is something interesting to write about!

I quit Safeway. My third day I went in, checked my duties for the day, checked my schedule for next week, and left. Didn't even clock in. You want to know how bad it was? Worse than Taco Bell. The trash at Safeway made me love Taco Bell. Normally trash duties were assigned to courtesy clerks every once in awhile. The same person wasn't supposed to do it every day. I had to do trash three days in a row. On the schedule it said I would have to do trash again, so I left. To give you an idea about why i don't like trash.... It takes two of us over an hour to take out the trash. And the meat department has blood in their trash. And the dairy department has rotten eggs. Sorry.... I couldn't handle that. And they scheduled me on weekends when I specifically told them I couldn't work on weekends. I don't know if I'll get paid for the time i DID work, but I really could care less. I wasn't happy there, and I'd prefer not having a job ( or rather, just working at Taco Bell ) then go back there again.

What's been going on lately.... hmmm....

Last week was the Bank of America Scholarship Competition in Redding. I was kinda sad that I missed the senior breakfast to go, but I went knowing that whatever happened I would come home with promises of a $500 check within the next three months. And I came home in awe of Shannell Keck and Alex Vigil. The ability to come up with so many allusions and brilliant points within thirty minutes and to present them in a way to make me hate having to go after them blows me out of the water. I had first, second, and third places picked out before I left the room, and I was so inspired by them I didn't mind coming in fourth. It was worth it just to be there.

Another thing that surprised me was the fact that my best friend from fourth grade was there. She was in the Fine Arts category, while I was in Applied Arts, so we didn't have to compete against each other, but it was great seeing her again and having someone to sit with during the banquet. And the banquet was the best food I've ever had at a dinner when you don't get to order your own food.

And then Paul came home for the weekend, and Ayla came back from college. So Paul got me out of work 15 minutes early by sucking up to David and Colin, Paul, Ayla, and I got to see Over the Hedge and then stand outside Taco Bell for an hour in the freezing cold. It was great actually hanging out with people again.

And one month left of school! YAY!
I start Safeway tomorrow. Now it's no longer "Would you like any hot, mild, or fire sauce with that?" it's "Would you like any help carrying your bags to your car?" LOL. We'll see how this job turns out. :)

BROOKS: Objection. That question should be taken out and shot.

Eisenberg "Handbook of Skits and Stunts"

I love that quote. Found it in the above book at the house we stayed at in La Pine when we went to Mt. Bachelor. Good book, I might just have to buy it.

As for snowboarding... I think I have whiplash from falling too hard too many times. My definition of the sport is living from one fall to the next. Don't get me wrong, I had a lot of fun, but I was so sore the next day it wasn't even funny. I wish I could go back tomorrow when I'm not so sore and go down the Coffee Run again. With a coffee. Or not.

Hot tubs are fun.

And the game Pit.

Oh, and I'm a Bank of America scholarship finalist. I get to go to Redding on May 17 and compete against other Applied Arts finalist for some money. Prepare a statement about stuff I don't know and deliver it to judges who'll probably know I'm making everything up. Either way, it's for money, and I can deal with that.

... at College of the Redwoods for $330. This is a sale! So those of you that never see Sarah smile (heaven forbid), you can still attain that wonderful expression for this limited time only!

And another way to say that the pain in climbing the mountain is worth the view:

And You said, "I know that this will hurt,
but if I don't break your heart, things will just get worse.
If the burden seems too much to bear,
remember...
The end will justify the pain it took to get us there."

...Or close enough

On another note, I received 10,900 a year in Financial Aid from Corban College. Assuming I maintain class rank 1 and a 4.0 GPA for the rest of this year. Which assumes means I must actually begin to study for Physics. I'd rather just run away from studying in that class in much the same way Sarah runs from Calculus. It would be the easiest, though not the most beneficial way to handle things.

When your will becomes too weak.... Run AWAY!

Last semester of high school started this week, and I'm pretty sure I pulled off straight A's again last semester. And my uncle says if I keep my A's this semester he'll help grandma get me a laptop for graduation. I don't know if that'll actually happen even if I do keep my grades up, but it's a nice thought anyway.

I don't know if I'm still going to be tutoring anymore, hopefully the verdict will come out innocent for Capocci and I'll be help to keep that little side job, but for the meantime, it's nice having my afternoons to myself.

Got to see Pride and Prejudice!

Relient K - High Of 75 Lyrics
We were talking together
I said, "what's up with this weather?"
Dont know whether or not
How sad I just got
'Cause on my own volition.
What if I'm just missing the sun

And tomorrow, I know,
Will be rainy at best.
And the forecast, I know,
Is that I'll be depressed.

But I'll wait outside
Hopin that I'll catch sight of the sun.

[Chorus:]
Because on and off,
The clouds have fought
Their controll over the sky

And lately the weather
Has been so Bi-polar
And Consequently so have I

And now I'm sunny with a High
of 75
Since You took my heavy heart
And made it light

And its funny how you find
You enjoy your life
When you're happy to be alive

[Chorus]

And the temprature is freezing
And then, after dark,
There is a cold frost sweeping
In over my heart

And we might break up
If I dont wake up to the sun

[Chorus]

Sunny with a High of 75
Since You took my heavy heart
And made it light (made it light)

And its funny how you find
You enjoy your life
When you're happy to be...
Alive

Everything becomes much better when you're listening to music. Even if it is the numa numa song on repeat :)

Finding it hard to concentrate in school now. I inherited senioritis my sophmore year and the real effects appear to be coming out this year. I'm still pulling through, but not with the grades I want to. All I want to do is work right now... Frustrating!

On another note, birthday party is saturday and I have the day off for it. Only a couple of people can come, but I'm sure we'll be able to have fun anyway. And then followed it with some carrot cake and the others with pizza. The fairgrounds looked so pretty! It may not even be Halloween yet, but the theme was Winter Wonderland, and was decorated accordingly. My favorite author, Francine Rivers, was the special guest speaker and I got to listen to her speak. My mom bought me my favorite book by her and got it signed as an early birthday present!

On another note, Dance Dance Revolution Mario was out yesterday for GameCube! Weather report says it will rain, just like every other homecoming except for last year. Doesn't really matter either way, I'm going to go to work and be there until nine. Might go over to Becca's house afterwards, and might stay if creepy gay Joseph isn't there. I'm so homophobic!!!! And I don't need therapy! Don't give me that. All I need is a life, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

Minimum days are great. I love getting home at 11:30 instead of 9:30.
....but unfortunately for you, I don't. Or I mean, I did... but I forgot it.

Went to the Sea Cruise yesterday. Watched it the night before. Looked a lot cooler at nighttime. Not really into cars, especially old ones, but the corvettes were nice. The 2006 model looked chopped off, but nevertheless... it's the newest model out. Wouldn't that be nice to have? Cruising down the road in a brand-spanking new 'vette. I'm a soccer mom wanna be. Borrowing my mom's maroon previa van and driving my sister to school and then going to work at night so i can pay for the gas. Not cool.

We go to Austria in less than two months. My trip is all paid for with over a thousand to spare. I don't know if the choir will be ready. We have some extremely hyperactive girls in Women's Chamber this year. You know how annoying it is to have someone chattering behind you even after the teacher has given them the evil glare? Some people just don't take a hint. My pastor's wife is concerned about how cold it's going to be. She thinks several pairs of long underwear won't be enough to ward off the chills in Austria. It'll be snowing. I so can't wait!

"And they said Ecks-Pee was supposed to be stable. Yeah, about as stable as a 10-foot tower of Legos next to a hyperactive child on a sugar high."

Colin and I have been going out for a year and one day. Yesterday was the most perfect day ever! I mean, everything you want in a date....
Marlene let me go from work early because Colin came in and told her it was our special day and since Marlene loves us she said I could go. So I went home, got ready and Colin picked me up. ~lots of happiness here~
We went to the Simpson Reed Grove and went on a hike. So pretty right now! Everything was all green and it wasn't too cold, but it had misted the day before so the ferns and clovers were dripping with dew while the paths and trees were pretty much dry(perfect for climbing...) So after the exercise for the day we went back to his house and he opened my present, it was kind of a joke because he has been wanting a motorcycle for forever, so I got him a k'nex one. I thought he'd be like "...... umm..... ok...." but he actually liked it... He thought it was "creative" and he liked the brownies I made him too. He gave me this pretty glowing necklace from where else but www.thinkgeek.com and then we went to dinner.
Wing Wah's. Best asian food ever! Fortune cookie statements kinda lame..... but still great food. After dinner we went to his house, watched Shrek 2, and then went to Denny's and shared a Oreo Sundae for dessert. Awesome day. Awesome guy. Awesome weekend. Totally need memories of this to help me last through the year...

Oh, and Curtis says he'll make me a shift manager when I graduate....... LOL! ROFLMAO! Like I'd be with Taco Bell that long! Though the pay raise is tempting........ HAHAHAHAHA.... Funny. Ok, goodnight.

Wheee......

My English class is somewhat brain-dead. I say somewhat because they do make it to class on time, and some of them actually do their homework, beyond that, it makes me shiver to think of that hour after lunch. I'm not used to this, really, I don't think it's going to work.

On a brighter note, Physics looks ok, I think I will survive this class. All the smart people that haven't taken the AP class before are in that class, and everyone is motivated and are heading to college. So awesome. Almost better than Calculus (or not :P).

Still working... Will be for awhile because I have decided to stick with Women's Choir and the trip to Austria, and must make up the money I'm having to hand over to make that trip happen. Colin doesn't want me to go, but that's just because he'll miss me too badly. We barely made it apart for five days, with phone calls, so how are we going to make it eight days not talking to each other at all? Good question. I'm too dependent on that guy. I believe I am beyond caring about that issue though.

There's a cross on the side of the road
Where a mother lost a son
How could she know that the morning he left
Would be their last time she'd trade with him for a little more time
So she could say she loved him one last time
And hold him tight
But with life we never know

When we're coming up to the end of the road
So what do we do then
With tragedy around the bend?

Chorus:
We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
Today we remember to live and to love
We live we love
We forgive and never give up
Cuz the days we are given are gifts from above
Today we remember to live and to love

There is a man who waits for the tests
To see if the cancer has spread yet
And now he asks, "So why did I wait to live till it was time to die?"
If I could have the time back how I'd live
Life is such a gift
So how does the story end?
Well this is your story and it all depends
So don't let it become true
Get out and do what we are meant to do

Chorus

Waking up to another dark morning
People are mourning
The weather in life outside is storming
But what would it take for the clouds to break
For us to realize each day is a gift somehow, someway
So get our heads up out of the darkness
And spark this new mindset and start to live life cuz it ain't gone yet
And tragedy is a reminder to take off the blinders
And wake up and live the life we're supposed to take up
Moving forward with all our heads up cuz life is worth living
